Tutorial 4 of 7
Calendars with week numbers and holidays
Beginner 6 min
Print a wall calendar or a year on one page in any of 17 languages, with the right first weekday, ISO or US week numbers and public holidays.
Printshop prints calendars month by month or a whole year on one sheet. Month and day names come from the Unicode CLDR data built into your browser, so every language looks the way people there expect.
Start with a template
Open File → Templates… and choose Wall calendar 2027 (twelve month pages with US holidays and lines for notes) or Year at a glance 2027 (all months on one landscape page with ISO week numbers). You can also click Calendar on the left (or press 4).
Choose the period
Under Period:
- Year and First month — a school year can start in September.
- Months — from 1 to 24.
- Layout — One month per page or All months on one page.
The info line under the preview shows how many months and pages you get.
Language and weeks
Under Language and weeks:
- Language of month and day names — any of the 17 languages of the site. Arabic calendars run from right to left: the first day of the week sits on the right.
- First day of the week — As usual in the region follows CLDR (Monday in most of Europe, Sunday in the USA, Saturday in Egypt and other countries). You can force Monday, Sunday or Saturday.
- Week numbers — ISO 8601 (Monday weeks), used in Europe: week 1 is the week with the first Thursday of the year, so 1 January 2027 still belongs to week 53 of 2026. US (Sunday weeks): week 1 is the week that contains 1 January.
Public holidays
Under Public holidays, choose a Country. Printshop loads the national holidays for the years of your calendar and shows the status line "Public holidays loaded: …". For regional holidays add a Region code (optional) such as DE-BY (Bavaria), CH-ZH or US-CA. Holiday names in the local language prints "Neujahr" instead of "New Year's Day" for Germany.
The data comes from Nager.Date through the RuleDate tool and covers 16 countries from 2024 to 2030. School holidays are not included. Holiday days are printed in the accent colour with the name in the day box.
Look
Under Look you can Shade weekends, add Lines for notes below each month, pick an Accent colour and set your own Title. Under Paper choose the size and orientation; a year at a glance fits best on landscape A4 or US Letter.
Print and share
Download the PDF and print it at 100 %. A share link (File → Share link…) contains all settings and the holiday list, so the receiver gets the same calendar.
Next: Label sheets from a CSV file.
